Zygomatic Dental Implants - Atlas Implant Dentistry

Give Your Smile a Fresh Start with Full-Mouth Dental Implants

Don’t Qualify for Traditional Implants? Try Zygomatic Implants!

If you’ve been told you don’t qualify for dental implants, you may still be a candidate for zygomatic implants. These longer implants anchor into the dense cheekbone (zygoma) instead of the jaw, bypassing the need for bone grafting. Our team can help you restore your smile even with severe jawbone loss.

Rebuild a Confident Smile with Implants Placed in Your Dense Cheekbone

Zygomatic implants provide a permanent solution for patients with severe upper jawbone loss by anchoring longer implants into the dense cheekbone. This advanced technique eliminates the need for bone grafting, allowing for the immediate placement of a temporary prosthesis.

What to Expect When You Get Zygomatic Implants from Atlas Implant Dentistry

The process begins with a comprehensive exam and diagnostic evaluation at Atlas Implant Dentistry. Advanced digital imaging technologies, including 3D CT scans, are used to assess the anatomy of your upper jaw, sinus cavities, and zygomatic bones. Diagnostic imaging is crucial for planning precise implant surgery and preventing complications.

Zygomatic implants in the upper back jaw are placed at an angle, while regular implants are inserted vertically into your jawbone. The extra-long implants are placed inside your mouth near your bicuspid teeth (fourth and fifth teeth from the center of the mouth to the back). Depending on your unique case, surgery is expected to take 2–4 hours.

If you’re getting full-mouth dental implants, this protocol enables you to be fitted with an immediate-load prosthesis. Our team can place a temporary full arch of teeth on the same day as surgery or within 24 to 48 hours after surgery. Whether you’re getting traditional dental implants, zygomatic implants, or a combination of both, our team will monitor your healing and implant osseointegration (fusion) during follow-up visits.

Osseointegration is typically complete by the fourth to sixth month after surgery, resulting in completely stable dental implants. At this stage, our team will replace your temporary teeth with a beautifully fabricated, custom-made zirconia prosthesis that fits and functions seamlessly. Transitioning from temporary to permanent teeth marks a memorable milestone on your journey to a restored smile!
